SINAVY Australia and New Zealand
Siemens has been supporting the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) since the late 1980's as the provider of all electrical equipment on the ANZAC Class frigates and today continues to provide through life support and engineering changes.

Today we continue to support the RAN with its increased naval capabilities providing the propulsion and power management for the new Landing Helicopter Deck (LHD). These vessels, the largest acquisitions by RAN, will include the first fully electric propulsion system with Siemens SSP POD's and the first high voltage power system (660Kv) on a surface navy vessel in the region.

SINAVY SUVS - Completely Integrated Solutions for Naval Surface Vessels

As a comprehensive industry-specific solution for naval vessels, the SINAVY product family integrates all the products needed for sustained maximization of naval vessel's performance over the whole life cycle.

Our extensive know-how in all fields of power generation, conversion and distribution, drives and automation is used to full effect onboard a large number of surface vessels and submarines of the German Navy, NATO forces and other friendly overseas navies.

Thanks to its intelligent architecture, our "Integrated Platform Management System" SINAVY IPMS, ensures the highest degree of availability and operational reliability on board naval vessels under all operating conditions. At the same time, the system relieves the availability and operational reliability on board naval vessels under all operating conditions. At the same time, the system relieves the

Siemens is currently focusing on future development in the areas of innovative concepts for ship propulsion and compact high-powered electrical energy generation based on high-temperature superconductor technology (HTS). The current in the HTS windings flows without any electrical resistance and the current density in the HTS is more than 10 times greater than in conventional copper coils.

This results in particularly positive attributes for naval applications such as reduction of volumes, weights and losses, increased power density and efficiency, enhanced overload capability and less noise and vibration.
