FOREWORD FOR ANZIDECC
Australia has a world-class, innovative and technologically sophisticated defence industry. It is a cornerstone of our national security capability and plays an essential role in equipping the Australian Defence Force.
Ensuring our sailors, soldiers and air crew have the equipment they need is one of the highest priorities of the Australian Government.
Delivering this can only be done through partnership; between the Australian Government, the Australian Defence Force and Australia’s defence industry. Projects will be completed, and capability delivered, when these partnerships are strong and productive.
Partnership is equally important within the defence industry.Potential investment and project partners need to have the ability to identify the right companies with the right capability to deliver specifi c products and services. Editions of this catalogue have been providing that information for almost
three decades.
I trust you will find the information you are looking for in the pages of this important resource.

FOREWORD
The New Zealand Government’s Defence White Paper was released last year. This set our defence policy for the coming decade, and forecast the likely shape of the NZDF beyond 2030.
A key outcome of the White Paper was to ensure that the NZDF continues to have the capabilities it needs to undertake the roles that it has. Now, more than ever, the defence forces of both New Zealand and Australia are looking for more effi cient and effective ways to build these capabilities and ensure maximum support for our service men and women.
The defence industry is vital to achieving this result. Whether it is for the highly technical and highly visible major platforms, or for the thousands of unseen services that contribute to defence capabilities, industry working in partnership with the services is the key to a sustainable future.
Industry on both sides of the Tasman has an impressive range of products and services. Companies are working together to provide innovative solutions that provide more for less. Defence needs to take maximum advantage of these local capabilities. They need to leverage and grow the expertise that industry can provide. This will make the most of those hard won defence dollars
This directory showcases what industry can bring to defence. It is a very useful tool for the defence forces in both our countries as we meet the challenge of adapting our forces for the changing world.
